Fabric Inspection Machine

What is a Fabric Inspection Machine

Fabric is a critical material in the garment manufacturing industry accounting for almost 50% of the total manufacturing cost, which means the quality of fabrics determines the quality of final clothing.

Therefore a proper fabric inspection machine plays an essential role in the garment production process. When weaving fabrics, the unchangeable disadvantages of weaving machines will make countless weaving or knitting defects on the fabric surface, which need to be inspected and processed by human eyes while the heavy inspecting tasks gradually become a huge pressure for manufacturing workers, so fabric inspection machines are invented to promote the fabric inspecting process, make the operations of fabric winding and rolling more convenient for inspector working.

Fabric inspection machine is of great significance to offer a no-defect fabric by working not only in the defect identification process, and defect location marking process, but also in the avoidance of the defect while making and subsequently in cutting. It is a kind of must-buy machine for garment manufacturing factories.

Main Fabric Defects

1. Bad Selvage

It is caused by faulty weaving, that is, the warp ends are too much apart to suit the yarn's thickness.

2. Broken Ends

Broken ends are mainly generated due to the broken warp yarn during weaving or finishing.

3. Loose Warp:

It is produced because of the low tension of the warp yarn during the weaving process.

4. Loose Weft

Same as the loose warp defect, a loose weft defect is caused by the low tension or looseness of weft yarns.

5. Fuzz Ball

The reed will generate a hairball if the warp yarns are overly hairy, then the hairball will pass through the reed dent and be located at the fabric surface if it is narrow enough, which are all defects.

6. Hole

It is a kind of obvious fabric defect caused by the damaged yarns. Sometimes simply one yarn then creates an opening hole on the fabric surface.

7. Double End

A thick bar running parallel warp due to 2 or more ends getting woven as one.

8. Double Pick

It is a defect that is woven by double-weft yarns in the fabric.

9. Cover

The existence of this defect is because of the wrong position of colored yarns during the weaving process of twill fabrics.

10. Miss-selection of Pattern

The pattern design gets altered due to the random dropping of stitches thus will produce this kind of defect.

11. Skip Stitch

It is in the knitted fabric when a stitch is skipped and the next yarn is picked up, then a float is formed on the fabric surface.

Significance of Fabric Inspection Machine

Whether on a flat table or a fabric inspection machine, whether in-house or by third-party inspectors, the work of fabric inspection will be done. Fabric inspection can prevent defects in the final product. Besides, there is some critical significance for any garment factory of fabric inspection, especially using fabric inspection machines.

1. Increase Fabric Inspecting Efficiency

Fabric inspection machine can roll and wind fabrics roll automatically and help inspectors mark the types and positions of each defect during the checking process. It is considerably more efficient than doing by manually only, which enables garment factories to face production challenges whether it needs to reduce productivity or increase production speed, and gives garment suppliers a strong competitiveness in the market.

2. Increase the Accuracy of Defect Inspection

Most fabric inspection machines are equipped with an electronic defect inspection device, which can complete the length recording and package arrangement automatically and the inspected defects can be analyzed statistically by the computing system. Fabric inspection machine helps inspectors accomplish higher-quality inspection work. It provides sufficient light sources for the inspection process and considerably improves the identified rate of fabric defects and the integrity rate of garments and additionally saves the labor fabric material cost of garment manufacturing factories in production.
